Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days

Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good ole days.
Sometimes it feels like
This world's gone crazy.
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday,
Where the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy.

Did lovers really fall in love to stay?

Stand beside each other come what may?

Was a promise really something people kept,

Not just something they would say?

Did families really bow their heads to pray?

Did daddies really never go away?

Whoa oh Grandpa,
Tell me 'bout the good ole days.

Grandpa, everything is changing fast.
We call it progress,
But I just don't know.
And Grandpa, let's wander back into the past,
And paint me a picture of long ago.

Did lovers really fall in love to stay?

Stand beside each other come what may?

Was a promise really something people kept,
Not just something they would say and then forget?

Did families really bow their heads to pray?

Did daddies really never go away?

Whoa oh Grandpa,
Tell me 'bout the good ole days.

Whoa oh Grandpa,
Tell me 'bout the good ole days.

  1. I just stumbled upon your blog while looking for a picture of a family praying. I posted it on my blog and will put a link to your site......if you do not mind. Your blog is so nice and I am going to bookmark it. I am a homeschool mom too...living in the land of nuts...California. I long for the days of old as well but know that the Lord has a reason for my being born and living during this very turbulent time. Life is so crazy now and it seems folks have no common sense anymore. What is right....is wrong...and what is wrong is right now. Your blog is a mini-vacation!! Keep up the good work and May the Lord give you energy and joy...wisdom and strength as you train and disciple your children...as you serve your family. Many Blessings, Anne
