For Spring Break, we decided to get out of Dodge and head towards lots of family and friends.
In other words, out of state.
It's so nice to be welcomed by those who know you well.
Kinda like the 'Cheers' theme song: "Where everybody knows your name....and they're always glad you came....."
It's fun to watch the groups form, listen to the conversations.
Wonderful to see the faces of so many you love!
Faces like these:
To explore the personalities of little nieces and nephews.
To see their goofy sides as well as their dramatic ones.
To watch cousins instantly connect- as if they'd never been parted.
They may not be perfect, and neither are we, but family is where it's at.
If you live close enough, go give yours a hug! I highly recommend it. :o)

Weekend Fun X 2
Another beautiful weekend....and everyone wanted to do more of the same.
Only this time they had friends over to join the fun.
And Charlie stayed busy....
Checking everything out,
Scratchin' and Sniffin'....
Enjoying the sun....
Watching the kids....
And trying to keep up!
He, like the kids, crashed early and slept well.

Rounding up Rusty
Rusty doesn't like the horse trailer.
He prefers to wander where he pleases, munching what he likes.
So it requires major forces to round him up.
Lots of running, lots of herding,
lots of Rusty playing hide and seek in the trees.
Finally, Fiiinnnallly, getting him toward the trailer ,
through the temporary 'chute' and into it.
Everyone breathes a sigh of relief.
He gets his Alfalfa, we get to go in for breakfast.

Easy Entertainment
We are finally getting some of our share of the sun.
After many months of snow and cold....we had a weekend of wonderful.
Raked some leaves, cleaned up the yard.
Stayed outdoors AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
And kept the young ones busy.

By simply hooking up the wagon to the riding lawnmower (blade off, of course)
we created hours of pleasure for the kids.
We also fixed the tire swing, which had been hanging lifelessly for a while now.
Kids + Sunshine+Outdoors+Freedom= One peaceful day.

March is here!
First a howling blizzard woke us,
Then the rain came down to soak us,
And now before the eye can focus -
Crocus. ~Lilja Rogers
Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn. ~Lewis Grizzard
Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~Thomas Blackburn
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. ~Nadine Stair

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain
Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~Thomas Blackburn
Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.
~Doug Larson

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month. ~Henry Van Dyke
"The March wind roars
Like a lion in the sky,
And makes us shiver
As he passes by.
Like a lion in the sky,
And makes us shiver
As he passes by.
When winds are soft,
And the days are warm and clear,
Just like a gentle lamb,
Then spring is here."
